A Chicken Little Tizzy Or The Next Cuban Missle Crisis?

Isreali, Russian and Iranian mainline news sources are reporting that Russian Spetsnaz special forces units are being ready to be deployed by the thousands into Syria. 1500 Iranian Republican guards are already being deployed to help Syrian president Basher Assad to fight against opposition forces. U.S. and Nato are calling for an intervention; it has come out that they already have troops inserted along the border regions. The Russian foreign minister has been warning U.S. and NATO to not get involved; Putin warns against the west behaving like an Elephant in a china shop. The Russian foriegn minister said in Damascus on Tuesday that they are going to respond and block outside western intervention. The fact that Isreali embassies are prepareing for an Iranian missle attack doesn’t bode well. Isreali news sources say that news agancies like FOX, ABC and others are renting rooftops in TelAviv to catch the spectacle of death and carnage as it unfolds.
I have been deliberately trying to keep my attention away from this topic; but I like a trainwreck I can’t look away. I was hoping my concerns were unfounded and I was being a reactionary in the articles I wrote about a month ago. Now it looks like we are staring down the barrel of a gun, we are at the precipice, the blood is in the water and hundreds of other cliche’s. This is probably the closest to midnight we have been to the Doomsday Clock ever since those dark days of October 1962. If war does break out it will be more than a regional war; it will spread like a pandemic virus around the globe. It will affect us more than a few bucks at the fuel pump. We might be able to expect all the lovely accruements of total war like ration cards; censorship; curfews and maybe even martial law. I hope these are just the ravings of a pipsqueak crying out that the sky is falling. I sincerly hope that Syria will not be the next invasion of Poland.
If I put my Carnac hat on I predict that we will see something happen before the next American election. As unpopular as Obama is right now; the American people will rally around him. You know that it is really serious when according to Haaretz fans of Maddona on a newly launched Facebook page are pleading with Isreali Primeminister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold off on striking Iran until after her planned May 29th show in TelAviv. In light of all that is happening in the region this may sound trivial; but if you look at her diggs and motif during the SuperBowl half time show she may very well be a high priestess of the Illuminati.
