So, we will have an election, and we will probably end up with the same Dictator.
    Or, a coalition.
    Not much will change.

off their rockers maybe, if the opposition partys bring down this government than they will be the big losers. So who will the next leader of the Liberals be when Iggy slinks back to the states?

…but will we have another 4 years of Gary Goodyear?

  4. Allan Dettweiler March 23, 2011 at 12:31 pm

Yes, 4 more years of Goodyear.
If the electorate didn’t dump Doug, they’re not going to dump Gary.
    Too bad on both counts.

I really think Layton can gain some ground.

  6. Margaret Barr March 24, 2011 at 5:32 pm

Scot, Layton may very well gain some ground, but I’m betting that the Canadian people won’t give him enough to plant his party in the governing role…

  7. scot March 24, 2011 at 5:41 pm

I certainly don’t see Layton as PM, Margaret, but a Harper Majority scares me. I don’t see Michael Ignatieff doing much, this is probably his last election, which leaves Jack Layton.

We will get some good governing as soon as we go broke in this country. It is coming!!
We can’t go on deficit spending forever. Oh sure, we are in better shape than many other countries – doesn’t mean we are in good shape.
    There is an “awakening” coming!
(when it comes right down to it, the fault lies with all those Canadians who want more out of governments than they contribute).

I would love an “awakening”. It seems like evryone want’s more ,even our leader’s.Our leader’s have a comfy and cozy job nest.still a lot of layoff’s.Who can do it for us?

  10. Hags March 25, 2011 at 12:39 pm

Scot, Harper scares you and Jack doesn’t?
In my opinion, the NDP will end up where they always do….dead last….because the ordinary Canadians they claim to represent, don’t trust them with our money. xoxo Hags
    P.S. You scare too easily

    Well, the election is on!
According to the last poll (yes, Liberals and NDP’ers, the only poll that counts is on election day) – as I was saying before I heard everyone screaming in my head – according to the most recent poll, the Conservatives could be headed to a majority government. I can’t stand the thought of Harper gloating. Don’t like the man. Despise Iggy every bit as much – possibly more.
If we would get an NDP government, we would get Jack. (couldn’t resist that).
For me, the outcome of this election is a lose/lose/lose situation.
If Conservatives would be Conservatives, I would wish them well. But, they keeping putting us even deeper in the debt hole.
The real truth is that Canadians will get exactly what they deserve. Overall, Canadians have shown they care first and foremost about themselves ie. what can I get out of government. Politicians look after themselves first – and their buddies. Liberals and Conservatives alike.
NDPer’s wear the same suits (except for Kormos) and take the same pay hikes and pensions.
Don’t tell me how fortunate we are to be Canadians – it’s crap.

My biggest beef with this and all Government has to do with DEBT… Say what you want about Paul Martin and the Liberals, but they did get control of the country’s debt and made Canada fiscally responsible… Steven Harper and the Conservatives have now put our country deeper in debt than before the Liberals started to control the debt back in the 80s..

In can remember being referred to as a borderline third world country because of the country’s debt back in the 80s…

I think that fiscally responsible governing should be the number one issue… Stop spending what you don`t have….

  13. Terry Provenza March 25, 2011 at 8:54 pm

The Governmentov fell because they disrespected the grassrooots and weren’t fiscally responsible, not good for a conservative party

Speaking of waste, I’d like to meet the guys who made this video, very poignant:

  15. Allan Dettweiler March 27, 2011 at 2:52 pm

And, when the great American Empire falls, guess who goes with them?
Of coarse all the politcians will have their pensions. Yes, Jack too! If he is still kicking.
If he kicks, he won’t get jack.
Now, this is not pick on Jack time. All the other politicians are at the trough with him. Funny how they all agree on fat pensions.

Besides all the campaign promises, here’s some more things to make you go “Hmm?” !!!!
