Cambridge, ON, November 27, 2014– Hot Rodder’s Scrapbook, a new book by noted local hot rod, custom car, and early drag racing historian, Tim Sykes, has been published and is now available in time for the holiday season! Tim Sykes has been a freelance writer for over 25 years, specializing in what is now regarded as the “golden era” of hot rods, custom cars, and drag racing in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. He writes several columns for Old Autos, Canada’s leading automotive publication. His work has also appeared in the pages of RPM High Performance magazine, Canadian Classics magazine, Auto Source magazine, The Cambridge Times newspaper, plus dozens of articles written for antiques related publications. He was the editor of Canadian Street Rodder Magazine in 1987 & 1988, with the publication winning the prestigious U.S. based Old Cars Magazine “Golden Quill” award for both years as editor. He has been nominated twice for the Canadian Street Rod Hall of Fame. Tim is also the originator of what is recognized as the very first “Cruise Night,” a weekly event held at the A&W Drive-In restaurant on Hespeler Road in Cambridge, Ontario more than 30 years ago. Tim is currently working on a new book about his popular Cruise Nights. Tim and his wife Jill live in Cambridge and are the owners of TNJ Poster Creations, an e-commerce website selling nostalgic, music, advertising, drag racing, positive mood, travel and sports posters as well as personalized posters and various CD’s and books.
