Lorraine Harris, 2011 Bernice Adams Award winner for music is getting ready to take her musical career to new levels with the release of her 2nd CD.
Her first CD, Knock, was a huge success. Two of her songs were released on a compilation CD, “Lift Jesus Higher,” along with a video, “He’s The One.”
Critical acclaims include a 2003 singer of the year nomination at Canada’s Gospel Maja Awards a nomination submission for a Canadian Juno. She has been featured in newspapers locally and nationally. She has made appearances on CKCO-The Beat, Breakfast Television, and appearances at The Canadian National Exhibition, HMV Music Stores and radio stations across Ontario.
Lorainne started singing at age 8 at a Christmas concert at St. Anne School in Cambridge when she did her first solo “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer!”
In spite of her success, Lorainne continues the work that earned her the nomination for “The Bernice,” singing in schools, churches, community concerts such as Cara’s Hope, Link Magazine community concerts, multicultural celebrations in Waterloo Region, Fairview Mennonite home for the aged, and many more venues.
Lorainne is motivated by “her unshakable, unwavering faith in God through many of life’s unexpected challenges.” She uses personal struggles as opportunities to “grow and make worthwhile choices that will not only affect her life but cause positive change in others.”
For the future, Lorainne hopes to find some corporate sponsorship to help her spread the word through her music. Her second Christian Contemporary CD will be released Friday December 2, at 7:00 pm. with special guest, Dr. Ron Kenoly from the United States. Dr. Kenoly is well known in the gospel circles having written many of the praise and worship songs sung in churches today. The concert will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly, 127 Hespeler Road Cambridge.

I go to Calvary and sometimes hear Lorraine with our ever-changing ‘praise team.’ Sure wish they’d let her solo more often, ’cause she truly has an exceptional voice.
Atinuke and I sat with her at the Bernice awards. I’m going to try to make this.
