Filming is slated to start in April for a 13 part series to be aired on Space Channel next year. “Bitten” is the story of Elena Michaels, the worlds only female werewolf. The novel is the first in a 13 book “Women of the Otherwold” series, which chronicles the adventures of a group of female supernatural beings. Bitten is set between Toronto and New York.
Hespeler’s gain is Hollywood’s loss. There were plans a decade ago to make Bitten into a feature film starring Angelie Jolie, but it didn’t happen.
Canadian Actress Laura Vandervoort has been cast to play Elena in the series.

Armstrong’s characters and story lines take very little suspension of belief to incorporate into your reality. She uses places that are familiar to Ontario residents, and when you read about her creatures you find yourself saying “I know him/her/it.” You might find yourself looking at your friends/co-workers/spouse in a whole new light.
Armstrong’s books are available at Cambridge Libraries and Galleries, and at Book Express at The Cambridge Centre.
